Modern increased requirements for evaluating managers require the development of new integrated indicators of management performance that take into account the specifics of the market economy. The article suggests the Manager’s competitiveness index as such an integral indicator. Until now, there are few works in which an attempt is made to synthesize various properties and characteristics of a leader in the context of the category of competitiveness, as an integral indicator of an integral personality. Methodological tools for assessing competitiveness as a set of professional and social competencies have not been created. The proposed author’s model is based on a systematic relationship between the two directions of the Manager’s activity – on production and on people, which is manifested in general competitiveness as a synergistic effect. The model identifies two types of competitiveness – in the field of production management (CPP) and in the field of people management (CPM). Meaningfully, the two types of competitiveness are in dialectical relationship and determine the overall competitiveness (OC) of the Manager, in the form of a synergistic effect. The value of the (OC) determines the real and future performance of the Manager, is an indicator of his potential capabilities in the field of production and personnel management. In practical terms, a list of competencies is proposed that determine the CPM 1 and CPM 2, the scheme and the mathematical formula for calculating the OC index.
