The article presents the results of scientific searches devoted to the study of ethnopedagogical preparedness of a future teacher-educator. Ethnopedagogical teacher training is interpreted on the one hand, on the constant development of the individual as a carrier of national culture, and on the other, as the most important characteristic of the lifestyle of a public teacher, in the deep sense of the word. Ethnopedagogical readiness is an integrative property of the individual, which is expressed in the totality of knowledge in the field of ethnopedagogics and ethno-cultural education; in the ability to effectively use this knowledge in the process of education and socialization of the student’s personality as a subject of an ethnic group and as a citizen of their homeland. The functional and structural components of the ethnopedagogical preparation of the future teacher are presented, including value-motivational, cognitive, activity-practical, emotional-evaluative components. Identified criteria for the ethnopedagogical competence of a teacher are considered as a standard, a diagnostic example of the effectiveness of the process of professional education of students to ethnopedagogical activity in the process of educational work of the university. Based on expert assessments, four levels of students’ preparedness for ethno-pedagogical activity are identified: high, sufficient, medium, low. In the work, a teacher with a high level of ethno-pedagogical preparedness is considered a true «standard of the national teacher». It is stated that positive experience in this direction is created by the initiative of enthusiasts only, it is an uncontrollable, fragmented part of the teacher training process.
